Three Fly Fishing Instruction Options!

South Carolina's premiere source for fly fishing instruction. For over 27 years our guides have been Orvis endorsed and eager to help you learn. We pride ourselves in not only teaching you to fly fish but to have a great time doing so. Please review the classes below and feel free to give us a call, 843-524-5250, if you have any questions.

The Redfish School

This is a class for the beginning to the intermediate fly caster who wishes to build a strong foundation. Emphasis is on fly casting, with exposure to equipment choices, knots, and fly selection for saltwater fishing. The cost for the one-day school is $250.00.  Fly casting is a prerequisite to fly fishing. This program solves casting problems and then focuses on fishing techniques. We want you to learn to cast before you are on top of fish.  Book a class today so that you can be more productive on every fly fishing trip in the future.  Course materials include a notebook & "The Orvis Guide to Saltwater Fly Fishing." The Orvis School

The Orvis Lowcountry Saltwater Fishing School is hosted by Bay Street Outfitters and Anchorage 1770 Inn on historic grounds overlooking the Beaufort River in Beaufort, South Carolina. These pristine flats are home to abundant redfish and make a perfect setting to experience flats fishing from the bow of a flats boat. This three-day Lowcountry Saltwater Fishing School adventure begins with instruction by Capt. Tuck Scott, an Orvis-endorsed guide. You'll learn fly-casting techniques, tackle and fly selection, knots, hook setting, and fish fighting techniques. Learning the double haul will improve your casting skills for many future trips. Days two and three will be spent on a flats boat (two anglers per skiff) fishing with an experienced Bay Street Outfitters captain in the backcountry of Port Royal Sound targeting redfish, speckled sea trout, and cobia depending on time of year and conditions. Tuition includes comprehensive instruction, guided fishing for two days, use of premium Orvis tackle, and lunches. Note: Due to use of heavier tackle, we strongly recommend that participants be at least 12 years old.  Click Schedule below for dates and to book your seat in a class
